THE TEACHERS' PENSION RULES (No. 2), 1924. | ||
Rules made by the Minister for Education with the consent of the Minister for Finance, under Section 11 (Eleven) of the National School Teachers (Ireland) Act, 1879, in relation to the payment of pensions of National School Teachers. | ||
I, Eóin MacNéill, Minister for Education, in exercise of the power given to me by the National School Teachers (Ireland) Act, 1879, as given effect to by Article 73 of the Constitution and as adapted by the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 , and of every power me thereunto enabling do hereby make the following Rules:— 1. Rule 14 (3) of the Irish Teachers' Pension Rules, 1914, shall be amended so as to read:— | ||
"Pensions shall accrue from day to day, but any sum due on account of a pension shall not be payable until the quarter day following the date on which it becomes due, unless in the case of the death of a teacher to whom a sum is so due earlier payment is authorised by the Superintendent. | ||
Provided that advances may be made monthly in respect of pension accrued in the calendar month next preceding but no such advance made in respect of pension accrued in either of the first two months in each quarter shall exceed eight per cent. (excluding fractions of a pound) of the total pension. | ||
The quarter days for the purpose of this Rule shall be the thirtieth day of June, the thirtieth day of September, the thirty-first day of December, and the thirty-first day of March in each year." 2. These Rules may be cited as the Teachers' Pension Rules (No. 2), 1924, and shall be construed as one with the Irish Teachers' Pension Rules, 1914. 3. In Rule (1) above the expression "Superintendent" means the Superintendent of the Teachers' Pension Office of Saorstát Éireann. 4. These Rules shall have effect as from the 1st October, 1924. | ||
