STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1927. No. 11.

LOCAL APPOINTMENTS COMMISSIONERS (COLLECTION OF FEES) REGULATIONS, 1927.

WHEREAS it is enacted by section 3 of the Public Offices Fees Act, 1879, as adapted by the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922), that the Minister for Finance may from time to time make regulations for certain purposes respecting fees in any public office, and amongst others for the purpose of determining the use of impressed or adhesive stamps, and the mode of cancellation of adhesive stamps, and regulating the use of stamps and prescribing the application thereof to documents from time to time in use:

AND WHEREAS the office of the Local Appointments Commissioners is a public office within the meaning of the said Act:

AND WHEREAS by virtue of the Local Appointments Commissioners (Collection of Fees) Order, 1927, fees payable in the office of the Local Appointments Commissioners under section 10 of the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Act, 1926 (No. 39 of 1926), are to be collected by means of stamps:

NOW, the Minister for Finance in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Public Offices Fees Act, 1879, as adapted by the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling does hereby make the following regulations, that is to say:—

1. These regulations may be cited for all purposes as the Local Appointments Commissioners (Collection of Fees) Regulations, 1927.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of these regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before the 1st day of January, 1924.

3. The stamps to be used in the office of the Local Appointments Commissioners for the collection of the fees payable to those Commissioners under section 10 of the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Act, 1926 (No. 39 of 1926), shall be adhesive stamps and such adhesive stamps shall be the adhesive stamps provided by the Revenue Commissioners in pursuance of the Civil Service Examination (Fees) Order, 1925.

4. The said stamps shall, in the case of a selection by competitive examination, be affixed to the documents issued by the Local Appointments Commissioners to candidates authorising them to attend such competitive examination and, in the case of a selection otherwise than by competitive examination, shall be affixed to the application for selection made by the candidate to the said Commissioners.

5. The said stamps shall be cancelled in ink by an officer of the Local Appointments Commissioners authorised by them in that behalf.
