WILD BIRDS PROTECTION ACT, 1930.

Order by the MINISTER FOR JUSTICE.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 2 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), that the Minister for Justice may by order made on the application of the Council of a county or a county borough, extend or vary in such county or county borough the close time in respect of all wild birds, or any particular kinds or kind of wild birds :

AND WHEREAS the Council of the County of Longford has applied to the Minister for Justice, to make an order extending the close time in the County of Longford, in respect of the wild birds hereinafter mentioned to the twelve months in each year :

NOW, I, JAMES FITZGERALD-KENNEY, Minister for Justice in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (2) of Section 2 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Wild Birds (Longford) Order, 1931.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The close time in the County of Longford in respect of the following wild birds, that is to say :—goldfinches, greenfinches bullfinches, linnets, and siskins, is hereby extended to the whole of the period between the 1st day of January and the 31st day of December (both days inclusive) in every year.
