STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1932. No. 20.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (ADDITIONAL FEES) ORDER, 1932.

WHEREAS it is (amongst other things) enacted by section 9 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904, that it shall be lawful for His Majesty, by Order in Council, to specify new fees to be paid in respect of the verification and stamping of weights, measures and weighing and measuring instruments in substitution for the fees specified in the First Schedule to the Weights and Measures Act, 1889, and that any Order in Council so made may be varied or revoked by a subsequent Order in Council :

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by section 10 of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922), that whenever it is provided in any British Statute that any act or thing shall or may be made or done by Order in Council then every such act or thing may be made or done in Saorstát Eireann by an Order of the Governor-General of the Irish Free State upon the advice of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State :

AND WHEREAS the said Weights and Measures Act, 1904, is a British Statute within the meaning of the said Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 :

AND WHEREAS by the Weights and Measures (Verification and Stamping Fees) Order, 1929, the Governor-General of the Irish Free State, acting on the advice of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State, ordered that the fees specified in the Schedule to the said Order shall be taken in respect of the verification and stamping by inspectors of weights and measures of the weights measures, and weighing and measuring instruments mentioned in the said Schedule :

NOW, I, JAMES McNEILL, Governor-General of the Irish Free State, acting on the advice of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred on me by the joint operation of section 9 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904, and section 10 of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Weights and Measures (Additional Fees) Order, 1932.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before the 1st day of January, 1924.

3. The Weights and Measures (Verification and Stamping Fees) Order, 1929, is hereby amended by the insertion in the Schedule to that Order (under the heading " Measuring Instruments " and before the words " any other measuring instrument ") of the fees specified in the Schedule hereto in respect of the measuring instruments mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and the said Order and the said Schedule thereto shall have effect accordingly.
