RAILWAY ACT, 1933 (APPOINTED DAY UNDER SECTION 5) ORDER, 1933.

Railways Act, 1933 (Appointed Day under Section 5) Order, 1933, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the 22nd day of December, 1933, pursuant to sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 (No. 9 of 1933), that on the passing of the said Act, Section 54 of the Railways Act, 1924 (No. 29 of 1924), shall cease to have effect, and on such day as the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall by Order appoint to be the appointed day for the purpose of the said sub-section of the said Section 5 of the said Act the said Section 54 of the Railways Act, 1924 (No. 29 of 1924), shall come into operation again, but with and subject to the modification that the expression "the standard revenue of the Company" shall mean the standard revenue as fixed by the Railway Tribunal under the said Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 .

AND WHEREAS the Railway Tribunal have on the 15th day of December, 1933, fixed the standard revenue under Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 .

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce pursuant to the provisions of sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 , and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said sub-section of the said section of the said Act and of all other powers him in this behalf enabling orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Railways Act, 1933 (Appointed Day under Section 5), Order, 1933.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The 1st day of January, 1934, is hereby appointed to be the appointed day for the purposes of Section 5 of the Railways Act, 1933 .
