STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 2.

FLAX (STANDARD PRICE FOR SALE SEASON 1938-39) ORDER, 1938.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936), (as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution), that the Government shall, by order made at or within the time mentioned in sub-section (2) of that Section, fix in respect of every sale season the price per stone of flax grown and scutched in Ireland which is to be the standard price for the purposes of the said Act for such flax in such sale season:

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of the said Section 15 (as so adapted) that the order made by the Government under the said sub-section (1) in respect of any sale season subsequent to the sale season beginning on the 1st day of October, 1936, shall be made not later than the 31st day of January next preceding such subsequent sale season:

NOW, the Government in exercise of the power conferred on them by Section 15 of the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936), (as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution) and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Flax (Standard Price for Sale Season 1938-39) Order, 1938.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. For the purposes of the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936), the standard price per stone for flax grown and scutched in Ireland in the sale season beginning on the 1st day of October, 1938, is hereby fixed at the price of nine shillings and six pence per stone of such flax.
