STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 81.

SHOPS (HOURS OF TRADING) ACT, 1938 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1938.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), that the said Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for that purpose by order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce either generally or with reference to any particular Part or provision :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the power conferred on him by sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (Commencement) Order, 1938.

2. The 16th day of May, 1938, is hereby fixed as the day on which the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), shall come into operation.
