BY-LAW No. 439 DUNDALK BAY.

MESH OF SEINE OR DRAFT NETS

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , the Fisheries (Redistribution of Public Services) Order, 1934, and of every other power enabling me in this behalf DO MAKE AND ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW :

(1) It is prohibited to fish, by means of steam or motor-power in that part of Dundalk Bay within or to the Westward of a straight line drawn across Dundalk Bay from the highest point of Slieve Foy or Carlingford Mountain on the North to the Eastern extremity of Dunany Point on the South, any seine or draft net by whatsoever name known, having in any part thereof any mesh less than two inches between each knot or eight inches in the round, such measurement to be taken in the clear when the net is wet ;

(2) Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding Five Pounds, and all nets used contrary to this By-Law shall be forfeited ;

(3) This By-Law shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1939 ;

(4) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to this By-Law ;

(5) This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as the Dundalk Bay (Mesh of Nets) By-Law, No. 439, 1939.
