STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1940. No. 357. | ||
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, CORK (EXTENSION OF TERM OF OFFICE OF GOVERNING BODY) ORDER, 1940. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the University Colleges Act, 1940 (No. 30 of 1940), that the Government may by order declare that the term of office of the members in office on the date of such order of the Governing Body of any college to which the said Act applies shall be extended until a specified date not later than twelve months after the date on which such term of office would, but for such order, expire : | ||
AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of the said section that no order shall be made under the said section save on the application of the Governing Body to whose members such order relates : | ||
AND WHEREAS University College, CORK, is a college to which the said Act applies : | ||
AND WHEREAS The Governing Body of University College, CORK, has applied for this Order and the term of office of the members in office on the date of this Order of the said Governing Body would, but for this Order, expire on the 31st day of January, 1941. | ||
NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the University Colleges Act, 1940 (No. 30 of 1940), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the University College, CORK (Extension of Term of Office of Governing Body) Order, 1940. 2. It is hereby declared that the term of Office of the members in office on the date of this Order of the Governing Body of University College, CORK, shall be extended until the 31st day of January, 1942. | ||
