BUTTON-MAKING JOINT LABOUR COMMITTEE EMPLOYMENT REGULATION ORDER, 1947.

THE LABOUR COURT.

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACT, 1946 .

SUBMISSION having been made to the Labour Court by the Button Making Joint Labour Committee of the proposals set out in the Schedule hereto for fixing the minimum remuneration of workers in relation to whom the Committee operates thereby amending the Order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce dated the 24th, day of May, 1946, confirming the variation of Minimum Rates of Wages for Male and Female workers in the Button-Making Trade and made under the provisions of the Trade Boards Acts, 1909 and 1918, which Order is deemed to be an Employment Regulation Order by virtue of the provisions of Section 54 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1946 .

THE LABOUR COURT, the provisions of Section 43 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1946 , having been complied with, by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by the said Section 43, HEREBY ORDERS as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Button-Making Joint Labour Committee Employment Regulation Order, 1947.

2. Effect is hereby given to the proposals set out in the Schedule hereto.

3. The provisions of the Schedule hereto shall have effect as from the 13th day of June, 1947, and as from that date the said Order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce dated the 24th day of May, 1946, shall be amended accordingly.

SCHEDULE.

The Rates which shall apply to workers employed within the Administrative County of Dublin and the County Borough of Dublin shall be THE RATES SET OUT HEREUNDER.

The Rates which shall apply to workers employed in ALL OTHER AREAS shall be THE RATES SET OUT HEREUNDER SUBJECT TO A REDUCTION OF 5 PER CENT.

PART I.

GENERAL MINIMUM TIME-RATES AND PIECE-WORK BASIS TIME-RATE FOR MALE WORKERS.

Section 1.—General Minimum Time-Rates for certain Male Workers employed in certain operations, that is to say :—

Male Workers—

(a) Who are employed in any of the following operations :

(b) Who are employed in Turning or Cutting by Machine (other than cutting Pearl or Trocas Buttons on wet lathes) and who are Responsible for setting their own tools; or who are employed in Turning or cutting by hand ;

or

(c) Who have had not less than one year's experience in turning by machine (with responsibility for setting their own tools) and are employed in the setting up of turning machines :—

Workers of 21 years of age or over :—

Section II.—General Minimum Time-Rates for Male Workers, other than Workers to whom the Minimum Rates set out in Section I above apply :—

PART II.
