DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE INLAND POST AMENDMENT (No. 2) WARRANT, 1948.

DATED 15TH JUNE, 1948.

The Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his signature hereto and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1937, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby by this Warrant orders as follows :—

1 Warrant to be read as one with the Principal Warrant.
|
1. This Warrant shall be read as one with the Inland Post Warrant, 1939, hereinafter called " the Principal Warrant."
|
|
2 Rates and conditions of Postage.
|
2. The entries numbered 1, 2, 3 and 7 (as amended by the Inland Post Amendment (No. 1) Warrant, 1941) and also the entries numbered 4, 5 and 8 in the First Schedule to the Principal Warrant specifying the rates of postage, limits of size and weight and certain conditions relating to the transmission by post of letters, postcards, printed packets, newspapers, sample packets and parcels, are hereby revoked and the entries in Schedule A to this Warrant are substituted therefor.

3 Fees and conditions of Registration.
|
3. The entries in Part I and Part II of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant are also hereby revoked and the entries in Schedule B to this Warrant are substituted therefor.
|
|
4 Short title.
|
4. This Warrant may be cited as " The Inland Post Amendment (No. 2) Warrant, 1948."
|
|
5 Commencement.
|
5. This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1948.
|
|
6 Repeal.
|
6. This Warrant repeals the Inland Post Amendment (No. 1) Warrant, 1941.

(2) Any newspaper not registered will, if posted or tendered for transmission by post, be charged with postage as a printed packet, letter or parcel of the same weight, whichever treatment involves the lowest charge (See Regulation 16).

(3) Any newspaper upon which no part, or a part only of the postage payable thereon is prepaid, shall be forwarded charged with double the amount of the deficient postage.

5. Sample Packet
