HAIRDRESSING SHOPS (HOURS OF TRADING) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF CORK) ORDER, 1948. | ||
The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 25 of the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), and after compliance with subsection (1) of Section 4 of the said Act, hereby orders as follows :— 1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Hairdressing Shops (Hours of Trading) (County Borough of Cork) Order, 1948. | ||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 4th day of October, 1948. 2. The County Borough of Cork shall be a trading area for the purposes of this Order. 3. In this Order the expression " shop to which this Order applies " means any shop, situate in the trading area for the purposes of this Order, in which there is carried on the business of hairdressing, whether any other business is or is not carried on in the shop. 4. Subject to the provisions of Article 5 of this Order, the proprietor of a shop to which this Order applies shall not open or keep open the shop for the serving of customers— | ||
(a) on any Saturday or Christmas Eve, before the hour of 9 a.m. or after the hour of 9.30 p.m., | ||
(b) on any other weekday, before the hour of 9 a.m. or after the hour of 7 p.m. 5. The proprietor of a shop to which this Order applies may, in a case of emergency, serve a customer— | ||
(a) on any of the twelve weekdays next preceding each of the following— | ||
(i) Easter Monday, | ||
(ii) Whit Monday, | ||
(iii) The first Monday in August, | ||
(iv) Christmas Day, | ||
within two and one-half hours after the ordinary closing hour, | ||
(b) on any other weekday, within half an hour after the ordinary closing hour. | ||
