ELECTORAL ACT (ALTERATION OF REGISTRATION RULES) ORDER, 1948.

WHEREAS the Electoral (Dail Eireann and Local Authorities) Act, 1945 (No. 6 of 1945) amended the qualifying date for every register prepared under the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923) (hereinafter called " the Act ") and the date of the coming into force of such register :

AND WHEREAS it is necessary for the purpose of carrying the said Acts into effect to amend Rule 7 of the First Schedule to the Act as in manner hereinafter appearing :

NOW THEREFORE the Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by subsection (2) of section 11 of the Act hereby orders as follows :—

1. Paragraph (g) of Rule 7 of the First Schedule to the Act is hereby amended by the substitution of " the 15th day of September " for " the 15th day of November " and " the 15th day of April " for " the 1st day of June."

2.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Electoral Act (Alteration of Registration Rules) Order, 1948.

(2) This Order and the Electoral Act (Alteration of Registration Rules) Order, 1933 shall be construed as one and may be cited collectively as the Electoral Act (Alteration of Registration Rules) Orders, 1933 and 1948.
