STATISTICS ACTS, 1926 AND 1946 (TRANSFER OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1949.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946 (Transfer of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1949.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1949.

2. The powers, duties and functions vested by the Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946, in the Minister for Industry and Commerce are hereby transferred to the Taoiseach.

3. In the Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946—

(a) references to the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Taoiseach, and

(b) references to the Department of Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Department of the Taoiseach.
