CUSTOMS DUTY (TEXTILE FLOOR COVERINGS) ORDER, 1952.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Textile Floor Coverings) Order, 1952.

2. The Emergency Powers (No. 257) Order, 1943 (S.R. & O., No. 71 of 1943) (which effected a reduction in the rate of the duty of customs chargeable on articles of a description mentioned at reference number 14 in the First Schedule to the Finance Act, 1938 (No. 25 of 1938)) shall not apply to articles imported on or after the 15th day of July, 1952, and, accordingly, section 15 of that Act as amended by the Finance Act, 1939 (No. 18 of 1939), shall have effect as if the said Order had not been made.
