CONTROL OF IMPORTS (AMENDMENT OF QUOTA No. 45 AND REVOCATION OF QUOTA No. 46) ORDER, 1952. | ||
The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :— 1. (1) This order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Amendment of Quota No. 45 and Revocation of Quota No. 46) Order, 1952. | ||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 31st day of October, 1952. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 45) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 330 of 1949 ), is hereby amended as follows : | ||
(a) by the insertion at the end of paragraph 3 of the following : " For the purposes of the said Part I two or more towels joined together by the warp or weft yarns shall be deemed to be piece goods "; | ||
(b) by the insertion of " which are less than fifty-three inches in width and " after " articles " in sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph 4; | ||
(c) by the deletion in sub-paragraph (g) of paragraph 4 of " brocade ", " repp ", " haircord ", " limbric " and " gaberdine "; | ||
(d) by the deletion in Part I of the Schedule of all words from " which are not less " to the end of the Part ; | ||
(e) by the substitution of " have a pattern in colour woven therein " for " do not exceed thirty-seven inches in width " in paragraph 3 of Part II of the Schedule ; | ||
(f) by the insertion of " in colour " after " printing " in paragraph 4 of Part II of the Schedule; and | ||
(g) by the insertion of " which have not a pattern in colour woven therein and " after " piece goods " in paragraph 6 of Part II of the Schedule. 4. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 46) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 331 of 1949 ) is hereby revoked. | ||
