6.—(1) In subsection (2) of section 45 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), “five years” shall be substituted for “three years” wherever the latter words occur in the subsection. | |
(2) Where, by reason of the members of the council of a county being removed from office, the day on which any such election as is referred to in subsection (2) of section 5 of the Local Elections Act, 1927 (No. 39 of 1927), is to be held cannot be ascertained pursuant to that subsection, the election shall be held on such day as the Minister fixes by order. |
