PUBLIC ASSISTANCE ORDERS (REVOCATION) ORDER, 1954.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941) and the Public Assistance Act, 1939 (No. 27 of 1939), hereby orders as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Assistance Orders (Revocation) Order, 1954.

2.—(1) The Public Assistance (Medical Assistance in Dispensary Districts) Order, 1942 (S.R. & O. 1942, No. 1) is hereby revoked.

(2) Articles 12 to 22 inclusive of the Public Assistance (General Regulations) Order, 1942 (S.R. & O. 1942, No. 83) and so much of the other provisions of that order as relates to the management of district institutions, the giving of medical assistance in district institutions and the appointment of officers for that purpose and the definition of the duties of the holders of office in district institutions are hereby revoked.

(3) This Order shall come into operation immediately before the commencement, on the 1st clay of August, 1954, of section 8 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953).
