REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES (ALTERATION OF FEES) (NO. 2.) REGULATIONS, 1954. | ||
The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 9 of the Vital Statistics and Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1952 (No. 8 of 1952), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations :— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Alteration of Fees) (No. 2) Regulations, 1954. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st day of November, 1954. 3. In these Regulations— | ||
" the Act of 1844 " means the Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1844 ; and | ||
" the Act of 1880 " means the Births and Deaths Registration Act (Ireland), 1880. 4. The amount of the fee for— | ||
(a) each entry in the Marriage Notice Book, fixed by section 14 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to two shillings ; | ||
(b) each certificate of an entry in the Marriage Notice Book, fixed by section 16 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to five shillings ; | ||
(c) each licence for marriage, fixed by section 21 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to ten shillings ; | ||
(d) entering a caveat against the grant of a certificate or a licence for a marriage, fixed by section 23 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to six shillings and sixpence ; | ||
(e) each marriage solemnized in the presence of a registrar of marriages, fixed by section 31 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to twenty shillings if the marriage is by licence or otherwise to ten shillings ; and | ||
(f) each general search, fixed by section 69 of the Act of 1844, is hereby altered to ten shillings. 5. The amount of the fee for each entry in the certified copies of registers of births and deaths, fixed by section 53 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, is hereby altered to fourpence. 6. The amount of the fee for each registered letter containing a copy of a notice of intended marriage sent by the registrar of marriages, fixed by section 3 of the Marriage Law (Ireland) Amendment Act, 1863, is hereby altered to one shilling and sixpence. 7. The amount of the fee for— | ||
(a) each general search fixed by section 18 of the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, is hereby altered to ten shillings, | ||
(b) each entry in the certified copies of registers of marriages, fixed by section 20 of the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, is hereby altered to fourpence. 8. The amounts of certain fees fixed by section 23 of, and the Second Schedule to, the Act of 1880 are hereby altered to the following amounts :— | ||
(a) for registration of a birth after three months and within twelve months, three shillings and sixpence ; | ||
(b) for registration of a birth or death after twelve months, six shillings and sixpence ; | ||
(c) for taking, attesting and transmitting a declaration respecting a birth which occurred in another district, three shillings ; | ||
(d) for entering the baptismal or other name upon a certificate produced after registry of birth, two shillings ; and | ||
(e) for correction of an error of fact or substance in a register, three shillings and sixpence ; and | ||
(f) for a general search, ten shillings. 9. The amount of the fee for a certificate of the registration of a birth, fixed by section 24 of the Act of 1880, is hereby altered to sixpence. | ||
