TOTALISATOR (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1956. | ||
I, GERARD SWEETMAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Totalisator Act, 1929 (No. 22 of 1929), hereby make the following regulations : 1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Totalisator (Amendment) Regulations, 1956. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of July, 1956. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. 3. " eighty-five " is hereby substituted for " ninety "— | ||
(i) in paragraph (a) and in paragraph (b) of Regulation 13 of the Totalisator Regulations, 1930, and | ||
(ii) in paragraph (a) and in paragraph (b) of Regulation 7 of the Totalisator (Double Event) Regulations, 1935 ( S. R. & O. No. 26 of 1936 ). | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations enable the Racing Board to retain at its discretion a sum not exceeding fifteen per cent. of the sums staked with the Totalisator in lieu of the ten per cent. operative since 1930. |
