PIGS (UNSUITABLE TYPES) ORDER, 1951 (REVOCATION) ORDER, 1956. | ||
I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) ), hereby order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951 (Revocation) Order, 1956. 2. (1) The Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1951 ), is hereby revoked. | ||
(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall come into operation on the 17th day of December, 1956. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
This Order revokes with effect as from 17th December, 1956, the Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951, which imposed certain prohibitions in regard to pigs of a colour other than all white. Similar prohibitions are contained in the Pigs & Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1956, which comes into operation on 17th December, 1956. |
