PIGS (UNSUITABLE TYPES) ORDER, 1951 (REVOCATION) ORDER, 1956.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) ), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951 (Revocation) Order, 1956.

2. (1) The Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1951 ), is hereby revoked.

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall come into operation on the 17th day of December, 1956.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order revokes with effect as from 17th December, 1956, the Pigs (Unsuitable Types) Order, 1951, which imposed certain prohibitions in regard to pigs of a colour other than all white. Similar prohibitions are contained in the Pigs & Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1956, which comes into operation on 17th December, 1956.
