2. The age of sixty-five years shall be the age limit for all offices under a vocational education committee.

3. The Vocational Education Committees (Age Limit for Officers) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 37 of 1947 ), is hereby revoked with effect as from the coming into force of this Declaration.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 26th day of February, 1958.

SEÁN Ó LOINSIGH.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Declaration fixes the age of sixty-five years as the age limit for all offices under a vocational education committee.

In accordance with section 24 (2) of the Local Government Act, 1955 , the Declaration affects only an officer who on retirement is entitled to a pension ; in the case of an officer who is not entitled to a pension until after he has reached the age of sixty-five, it does not become effective until he is so entitled.

Under section 6 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 , the Declaration comes into force six months after it is made. The existing age limit order for offices under a vocational education committee is then revoked.
