S.I. No. 264/1960 - Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1960.

I, OSCAR TRAYNOR, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1960.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1959 ), shall, from the 1st day of March, 1960, have effect as if the following Article were substituted for Article 3:

"3. Subject to the provisions (other than Article 4) of the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1958 ), the pay of members of the Garda Síochána mentioned hereunder shall be in accordance with the following rates and scales:

The Commissioner .. .. .. ..	2,750 per annum
Deputy Commissioners.. .. ..	2,125 " "
Assistant Commissioners .. .. ..	1,875 " "
Surgeon:
On appointment .. .. .. ..	1,725 " "
After one year from appointment ..	1,800 " "
" two years " " .. ..	1,875 " "
" three " " " .. ..	1,950 " "

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
