APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE FOR THE HAIRDRESSING TRADE (DUBLIN). (CONFIRMATION OF RULES) ORDER, 1962.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of Section 9 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 , (No. 56 of 1931), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship Committee for the Hairdressing Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1962.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Rules set out in the Schedule to this Order are hereby confirmed and shall come into operation on the 30th day of April, 1962.

SCHEDULE.

The Rules of the Apprenticeship Committee for the Hairdressing Trade (Dublin) as set out in Apprenticeship Committee for the Hairdressing Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1960 ( S.I. No. 53 of 1960 ) are hereby amended as follows, that is to say, by the deletion of the Rules set out therein and by the substitution therefor of the following :—

RULES REGULATING MINIMUM RATES OF WAGES.

The Committee specify hereunder the minimum rates of wages (other than wages for overtime) to be paid to male or female persons employed by way of Apprenticeship in the Trade in the Apprenticeship District.

PROVIDED THAT—

Where an apprentice has been employed in accordance with (a) or(b) of Part II of the Schedule to the Apprenticeship Committee for the Hairdressing Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1941 ( S. R. & O. No. 118 of 1942 ) during the first four years of his or her apprenticeship he or she shall be paid the rate applicable to the third year if he or she continues as an apprentice under (c) of the said Part II for the remainder of the term ; any change from (a) or (b) to (c) to be made only with the consent of the employer and the apprentice and the written order of the Committee.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to confirm new Rules made by the Apprenticeship Committee for the Hairdressing Trade (Dublin) appointing increased rates of pay for apprentices employed in the trade in the Dublin area.
