OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1963.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) Act, 1962 (No. 32 of 1962), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Regulations, 1963.

2. The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 4 of 1963 ), are hereby amended as follows:

(i) the following paragraph shall be substituted for paragraph (b) of Regulation 3:

" (b) trunk calls shall not be made except to a particular number in the member's constituency selected by the member and notified by him to the Clerk of Dáil Éireann."

(ii) the following paragraph shall be substituted for paragraph (b) of Regulation 4:

" (b) trunk calls shall not be made except to a particular number selected by the member and notified by him to the Clerk of Seanad Éireann."

(iii) the following paragraphs shall be added to Regulation 5:

" (d) not more than three hundred of such envelopes shall be issued to a member in any week;

(e) not more than three hundred of such envelopes shall be posted for a member in any week."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations modify the restrictions imposed upon the telephone and postal facilities granted to a member of Dáil Éireann or Seanad Éireann.
