TELEGRAPH (INLAND WRITTEN TELEGRAM) AMENDMENT (No. 9) WARRANT, 1964.

I, MICHAEL HILLIARD, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Telegraph Act, 1885, and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the regulations contained in the following Warrant :

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1964.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1964.

2. In this Warrant—

" the 1955 Warrant " means the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 6) Warrant, 1955 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1955 ) ;

" the 1960 Warrant " means the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 7) Warrant, 1960 ( S.I. No. 51 of 1960 ).

3. The Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Regulations, 1920, are hereby amended as follows :

(i) in paragraph (1) of Regulation 7 for " 6d." (inserted by paragraph (1) of Regulation 8 of the 1955 Warrant) there shall be substituted " 9d. ";

(ii) in Regulation 27 for " ninepence " (inserted by Regulation 12 of the 1955 Warrant) there shall be substituted " 1s. 0d.";

(iii) in paragraph (2) of Regulation 32, as amended by Regulation 13 of the 1955 Warrant, for the references to " 3s. 0d." (inserted by Regulation 3 of the 1960 Warrant) and " 3s. 6d." there shall be substituted respectively references to " 5s. 0d." and " 6s. 0d.";

(iv) in subparagraph (c) of paragraph (2) of Regulation 33 for " £4 " (inserted by Regulation 14 of the 1955 Warrant) there shall be substituted " £5 ".

4. In Regulation 6 of the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 1) Warrant, 1928 ( S. R. & O. No. 45 of 1928 ), as

amended by Regulation 11 of the 1955 Warrant and Regulation 2 of the 1960 Warrant, for " 9d." (after " the sum of "), " 5s. 6d.", " 9d." (after " 5 copies at "), " 3s. 9d." and " 9s. 3d." there shall be substituted respectively " 1s. 0d.", " 9s. 2d.", " 1s. 0d." " 5s. 0d." and " 14s. 2d.".

5. The 1955 Warrant is hereby amended as follows :

(i) in paragraph (a) of Regulation 4 for " 3s. 0d." (inserted by paragraph (i) of Regulation 4 of the 1960 Warrant) there shall be substituted " 5s. 0d.";

(ii) in paragraph (b) of Regulation 4 for " 3s. 0d." and " 3d." both inserted by paragraph (ii) of Regulation 4 of the 1960 Warrant) there shall be substituted respectively " 5s. 0d." and " 5d.";

(iii) in paragraph (a) of Regulation 5 for " 3s. 6d." there shall be substituted " 6s. 0d.";

(iv) in paragraph (b) of Regulation 5 for " 3s. 6d." and " 3d." there shall be substituted respectively " 6s. 0d." and " 5d.";

(v) in Regulation 6 for " 1s." there shall be substituted " 1s. 6d.";

(vi) in subparagraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Regulation 7 for " 3s. 0d." (inserted by paragraph (iii) of Regulation 4 of the 1960 Warrant) there shall be substituted " 5s. 0d.";

(vii) in subparagraph (b) of paragraph (1) of Regulation 7 for " 3s. 6d." there shall be substituted " 6s. 0d.";

(viii) in subparagraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Regulation 9 for " 1s. 6d." there shall be substituted " 2s. 6d.";

(ix) in subparagraph (b) of paragraph (1) of Regulation 9 for " 1s. 6d." and " 3d." there shall be substituted respectively " 2s. 6d." and " 5d.";

(x) in paragraph (a) of Regulation 10 for " 1s. 6d." and " 12s. 0d." (the latter amount having been inserted by paragraph (iv) of Regulation 4 of the 1960 Warrant) there shall be substituted respectively " 2s. 6d." and " 15s. 0d.";

(xi) in Regulation 16 for " 3s. 0d." in both places where that amount is mentioned (having been inserted by paragraph (v) of Regulation 4 of the 1960 Warrant) there shall be substituted " 5s. 0d.".

6. The 1960 Warrant is hereby revoked.
