IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (NO. 144) (MEAT PREPARATIONS) ORDER, 1964.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 144) (Meat Preparations) Order, 1964.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of September, 1964.

3. The Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1962 ), is hereby amended by—

(a) the insertion in the first column of the Schedule after tariff heading number 21.07(F) of:

"(G) Preparations derived partly from meat which are substitutes for the meat extracts and meat juices falling within heading No. 16.03 and materials for the manufacture of any such preparations",

(b) the insertion in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 21.07(G) (inserted by this Order) of "(b)", "5s. per lb ", "5s. per lb." and "6s. per lb.", respectively, and

(c) the substitution of "(H) Other:" for "(G) Other:" in the first column of the Schedule at tariff heading number 21.07.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order imposes a Customs duty of 5/-s. per lb. on all imports of preparations derived partly from meat which are substitutes for the meat extracts and meat juices falling within Customs tariff heading No. 16.03 and materials for the manufacture of any such preparations.
