SALMON EXPORT LEVY (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1964.

I, SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (4) of section 49 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959), and the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1964 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1964 ), and after consultation with the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows :

1.—(1) These regulations may be cited as the Salmon Export Levy (Amendment) Regulations, 1964.

(2) These regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1965.

2. The Salmon Export Levy Regulations, 1957 ( S.I. No. 116 of 1957 ), are hereby amended—

(i) by the substitution of the following Article for Article 4 :

"4. The levy shall be paid by either affixing to the form prescribed in the Schedule to these regulations postage stamps to the proper value, or by attaching to the said form a cheque (which shall be guaranteed as directed by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands) to the proper value.",

(ii) by the substitution of the following Article for Article 5 :

"5. The said form, duly completed and stamped or accompanied by a cheque in accordance with Article 4 of these regulations, shall be delivered to the proper Officer of Customs and Excise at the time of exportation as evidence of payment of the levy.", and

(iii) by the insertion in the Schedule after " Affix postage stamps here " of " or attach a cheque ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This instrument permits the payment of the levy on salmon exports either by cheque or by postage stamps.
