TURNOVER TAX (EXEMPTED ACTIVITIES) (No. 14) ORDER, 1966. | ||
I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Finance Act, 1963 (No. 23 of 1963), hereby order as follows : 1. This Order may be cited as the Turnover Tax (Exempted Activities) (No. 14) Order, 1966. 2. the Activity specified in the Schedule to this Order is hereby declared to be, for the purposes of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Finance Act, 1963 , exempted. | ||
SCHEDULE. | ||
Sales of ships, boats or other vessels other than pleasure craft and vessels of any description designed for the carriage and conveyance of passengers. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
This Order exempts from the Turnover Tax sales of cargo boats and similar vessels. Ships which provide accommodation for passengers are not included in the exemption; nor are yachts, dinghies, canoes, skiffs, cabin cruisers, racing boats and other pleasure craft. | ||
Vehicles designed for the carriage of goods are already exempt from Turnover Tax. The effect of this Order is to provide a similar exemption for ships and boats designed for the carriage of goods. |
