HIRING ORDER, 1966.

I, SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 of the Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Act, 1960 (No. 15 of 1960), and after consultation with the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Hiring Order, 1966.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 31st day of August, 1966.

3. The Hiring Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1965 ), shall not apply in relation to—

(a) television receiving sets (including portable sets and sets designed for use in road vehicles), whether or not assembled and whether or not complete, television aerials, cathode ray tubes or television conversion units, or

(b) mechanically propelled bicycles.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to remove television receiving sets and mechanically propelled bicycles from the scope of the restrictions imposed by the Hiring Order, 1965.
