CUSTOMS AND EXCISE (AIRCRAFT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 of the Finance Act, 1950 (No. 18 of 1950), hereby make the following regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Customs and Excise (Aircraft) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967.

(2) The Customs and Excise (Aircraft) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 189 of 1964 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Customs and Excise (Aircraft) Regulations, 1964 and 1967.

2. The Customs and Excise (Aircraft) Regulations, 1964, are hereby amended—

(a) by the insertion of "if those documents are demanded," after "arrived," in paragraph (1) (b) (i) of Article 8, and

(b) by the insertion of "such requirement being taken for the purposes of this exception as applying whether or not the documents are demanded by the proper officer," after "arrived," in paragraph (a) of Article 14.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to reduce the number of documents to be presented in respect of aircraft arriving from abroad at customs airports. The change does not apply to aircraft in transit.
