GAELTACHT AREAS ORDER, 1967.

WHEREAS the areas specified in the Schedule to this Order are substantially Irish speaking areas or areas contiguous thereto which, in the opinion of the Government, ought to be included in the Gaeltacht with a view to preserving and extending the use of Irish as a vernacular language:

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 2 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 21 of 1956), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Gaeltacht Areas Order, 1967.

2. The Gaeltacht Areas Order, 1956, and this Order may be cited together as the Gaeltacht Areas Orders, 1956 and 1967.

3. The areas specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby determined to be Gaeltacht areas for the purposes of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 21 of 1956).

SCHEDULE

(1) that part of the district electoral division of Rathmore comprised in the townlands of Rathcarran and Drissoge and county of Meath,

(2) that part of the district electoral division of Kilbride comprised in the townland of Kilbride and county of Meath,

(3) that part of the district electoral division of Donaghpatrick comprised in the townlands of Gibstown, Gibstown Demesne, Tankardrath, Clongill and Donaghpatrick and county of Meath,

(4) that part of the district electoral division of Teltown comprised in the townlands of Teltown and Oristown and county of Meath.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

By this Order certain areas in County Meath are determined to be Gaeltacht Areas for the purposes of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 21 of 1956).
