ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY OF SLIGO) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1969.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 , 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), amended as regards the said section 46 by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Sligo) (Amendment) Regulations, 1969.

(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Sligo) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 172 of 1967 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Sligo) Regulations, 1967 and 1969.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of April, 1969.

3. In these Regulations " Principal Regulations " means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Sligo) Regulations, 1967.

4. (1) The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule A to these Regulations.

(2) The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule B to these Regulations.

(3) The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule C to these Regulations.

SCHEDULE A.

Amendments to the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

1. There shall be deleted at reference 1 (a)—

" The Manorhamilton Road," " The Screens Road,".

2. There shall be added at reference 1—

" (i) The Manorhamilton Road between the Borough boundary and a point 70 yards from its junction with the Barroe Road.

(j) The Screens Road between the Borough boundary and a point 150 yards from its junction with the Strandhill Road ".

3. There shall be substituted—

(a) at reference 1 (b) " 155 " for " 25 ";

(b) at reference 1 (c) " 300 " for " 50 ";

(c) at reference 1 (h) " Pearse Road or Albert Road between the Borough boundary and a point 20 yards south of its junction with Pilkington Terrace Upper." for the matter at the said reference.

SCHEDULE B.

Amendment to the Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

1. There shall be substituted—

at reference 11 (g) " 270 " for " 200 ".

SCHEDULE C.

Amendments to the Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

1. There shall be substituted—

(a) at reference 3 (a) " Pearse Road or Albert Road between a point 20 yards south of its junction with Pilkington Terrace Upper and a point 50 yards north-east of the boundary of the Borough of Sligo." for the matter at the said reference.

(b) at reference 3 (c) " Cartron Hill and its continuation as the Rosses Point Road between a point 100 yards north of its junction with Duck Street and a point 875 yards south-east of the boundary of the Borough of Sligo." for the matter at the said reference.

2. There shall be added—

(a) at reference 3,

" (d) The Barroe Road between a point 155 yards northeast of its junction with Ash Lane and a point 30 yards south-west of its junction with Mental Hospital Road."

(b) the following additional reference—

" 5. The following road at Ballynacarrow :—

The Sligo-Galway road between a point 175 yards north-east of its junction with the Rathnara Road and a point 150 yards south-west of the said junction."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Sligo) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 172 of 1967 ) and alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in County Sligo.
