BEE PEST PREVENTION (IRELAND) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1971. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I, JAMES M. GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sections 6 and 8 of the Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) Act, 1908, and Section 8 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1965 ), hereby make the following regulations:— 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. 2. The Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) Regulations, 1909, are hereby amended by the substitution for Regulation 10 of the following:— | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
"10. Compensation for the destruction of bees, articles and appliances may be allowed by a local authority at a rate not exceeding the following— | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) MOVABLE COMB HIVE. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3. The Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations, 1950 are hereby revoked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This Order increases the compensation payable by Local Authorities for bees or equipment infested with foul brood disease and compulsorily destroyed. |
