DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) (No. 3) ORDER, 1978.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 26(1) ( f ) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1978.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1978.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Williamstown shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column (4) at reference number 102 in the First Schedule to, and in column (4) at reference number 90 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order, be the first Friday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 11.00 a.m.

4. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Castlerea shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column (4) at reference number 212 in the First Schedule to, and in column (4) at reference number 182 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order, be the third Friday in each month at 11.00 a.m. and the first Friday in February, April, June, October and December at 11.00 a.m.

5. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for a reduction in the annual number of District Court sittings at Williamstown, Co. Galway and an increase in the annual number of District Court sittings in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.
