DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1979. | ||
The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and by section 69 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970), hereby makes the following Regulations— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979. 2. Article 4 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 1973 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1973 ) is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-article (4) (as substituted by article 2 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 54 of 1978 ) of the following sub-article:— | ||
"(4) A maintenance allowance payable in accordance with this article shall with effect from the 1st April, 1979 be at a rate not exceeding £15.20 per week ". | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
The effect of these Regulations is to increase, as from 1st April, 1979, the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under Section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 , to fifteen pounds and twenty pence. |
