Occupational injuries (extension of definition of orphan).
22.—(1) Section 1 (1) of the Act of 1966 is hereby amended by the insertion after paragraph (b) in the definition of “orphan qualified for the purposes of this Act” of the following:
“or
(c) a child qualified for the purposes of this Act one of whose parents is dead and whose surviving parent has abandoned him or refused or failed to provide for him;”.
(2) This section shall come into operation on the 4th day of April, 1980.
