INLAND POST AMENDMENT (NO. 25) WARRANT, 1981.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by
sections 2
,
3
and
6
of the
Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969
(No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:
1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Inland Post Amendment (No. 25) Warrant, 1981.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1981.
2. In this Warrant—
|
| |
"the Principal Warrant" means the Inland Post Warrant, 1939 (S. R. & O., No. 202 of 1939);
|
| |
"the Warrant of 1980" means the Inland Post Amendment (No. 24) Warrant, 1980 (
S.I. No. 201 of 1980
).
3. Regulation 23 (2) of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for "fifty new pence" (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Warrant of 1980) of "sixty new pence".
4. The First Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Warrant of 1980) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.
5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Warrant of 1980) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.
6. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Warrant of 1980) of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant.
7. The Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 7 of the Warrant of 1980) of the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Warrant.
8. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 8 of the Warrant of 1980) of the entries in the Fifth Schedule to this Warrant.
9. Regulation 7 of the Inland Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1953 (
S.I. No. 279 of 1953
), as amended by Regulation 9 of the Warrant of 1980, is hereby amended by the substitution for "forty new pence" of "forty-eight new pence".
10. Regulation 45 of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for "ten pounds" (inserted by Regulation 10 of the Inland Post Amendment (No. 23) Warrant, 1979 (
S.I. No. 260 of 1979
)) of "fifteen pounds".
11. Regulation 5 of the Inland Post Amendment (No. 5) Warrant, 1953 (inserted by Regulation 12 of the Inland Post Amendment (No. 19) Warrant, 1974 (
S.I. No. 280 of 1974
)) is hereby amended by the substitution of "one new penny" for "one halfpenny".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
|
| |
This Warrant applies to the Inland Post service and comes into operation on the 1st April, 1981. It authorises increases in the letter, postcard, printed packet, newspaper, sample packet and parcel post rates of postage and in the fees charged for the express delivery, registration, customs clearance, cash-on-delivery and other miscellaneous services.
