REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS (VARIATION OF EMPLOYER'S REDUNDANCY CONTRIBUTION) REGULATIONS, 1982. | ||
I, GENE FITZGERALD, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 28 (3) of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967) (inserted by the Redundancy Payments Act, 1979 (No. 7 of 1979)), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Redundancy Payments (Variation of Employer's Redundancy Contribution) Regulations, 1982. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 6th day of April, 1982, and shall cease to have effect on and after the 6th day of April, 1983. 2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1981" means the Redundancy Payments (Variation of Employer's Redundancy Contribution) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 94 of 1981 ). 3. The rate of employer's redundancy contribution specified in section 28 (1) of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967) (inserted by the Redundancy Payments Act, 1979 (No. 7 of 1979), and varied by the Regulations of 1981), is hereby varied to a rate of 0.01 per cent of the amount of the reckonable earnings referred to in section 28 (1). 4. The Regulations of 1981 are hereby revoked. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
The purpose of these Regulations is to change the rate of contribution payable by employers under the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 to 1979 from 0.2 per cent to 0.01 per cent of the reckonable earnings of each worker covered by those Acts for the period of one year commencing on 6th April, 1982. |
