SOCIAL WELFARE (SUBSIDIARY EMPLOYMENTS) REGULATIONS, 1982

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of and paragraph 4 of Part II of the First Schedule to the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Subsidiary Employments) Regulations, 1982.

(2) The Social Welfare (Subsidiary Employments) Regulations, 1979 and these Regulations may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Subsidiary Employments) Regulations, 1979 to 1982.

2. The employment set forth in the Schedule hereto is hereby specified as being of such a nature that it is ordinarily adopted as subsidiary employment only and not as the principal means of livelihood and the Schedule to the Social Welfare (Subsidiary Employments) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 127 of 1979 ) is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the paragraph in the Schedule hereto.

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1982.

50. Employment as an examination superintendent.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Employment as an examination superintendent is, by these Regulations, classified as a subsidiary employment for the purpose of the Social Welfare Acts. Consequently, such employment is not insurable under those Acts except for occupational injuries benefit.
