VOCATIONAL EDUCATION COMMITTEES (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1984.

I, GEMMA HUSSEY, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (4) of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1947 (No. 1 of 1947), as amended by section 5 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1962 (No. 28 of 1962), hereby make the following Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Vocational Education Committees (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Rules, 1984.

2. These Rules shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1983.

3. In these Rules "the Rules of 1982" means the Vocational Education Committees (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Rules, 1982 (S.I. No. 68 of 1982).

4. The Vocational Education Committees (Allowances to Members) Rules, 1963 ( S.I. No. 114 of 1963 ), are hereby amended by:—

(a) the substitution in Rule 3 (a) for "£7.80" (inserted by the Rules of 1982) of "£10.45".

(b) the substitution in Rule 3 (b) for "£10.80" (inserted by the Rules of 1982) of "£14.45".

(c) the substitution in Rule 4 for "£11.50" (inserted by the Rules of 1982) of "£15.40".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These rules govern the payment of allowances to members of county vocational education committees and of approved sub-committees of such county committees in respect of their attendance at meetings of the county committees or approved sub-committees.
