EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (CEREAL SEED) REGULATIONS, 1985.

I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Cereal Seed) Regulations, 1985.

(2) The European Communities (Cereal Seed) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 48 of 1981 ), the Regulations of 1983 and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Cereal Seed) Regulations, 1981 to 1985.

2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1983" means the European Communities (Cereal Seed) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 329 of 1983 ).

3. Notwithstanding Regulation 1(1) of the Regulations of 1983, the following shall apply—

(a) the Regulations of 1983 shall be deemed never to have come into operation and

(b) the Regulations of 1983 shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1986.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations postpone to 1 January 1986 the operative date for implementation of the European Communities (Cereal Seed) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 329 of 1983 ). Cereal seed of second generation may not be marketed after that date.
