		MARITIME BOUNDARIES (COUNTY BOROUGH OF DUBLIN) ORDER, 1985.
		The present acknowledged or reputed maritime boundaries of the county borough of Dublin having been ascertained, defined and marked out under section 3 of the Boundary Survey (Ireland) Act, 1854, and also the maritime boundaries of its constituent maritime denominations of land, namely, baronies, parishes and wards having been ascertained and defined under the said section, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 11 and 12 of the said Act and section 4 of the Boundary Survey (Ireland) Act, 1859, as adapted by or under subsequent enactments, and having considered a report prepared, made out and submitted to them together with plans, in accordance with the said section 11, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Maritime Boundaries (County Borough of Dublin) Order, 1985. 2. This Order shall take effect from the 25th day of April, 1985. 3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 4. In this order
		"the plans" means the ordnance plans referred to in and submitted with the report;
		"present" in relation to a boundary, means existing immediately before the commencement of this Order:
		"the report" means the report of the Chief Boundary Surveyor relating to the maritime boundaries of the county borough of Dublin and of its constituent maritime denominations of land namely, baronies, parishes and wards, dated the 4th day of April, 1985, and prepared, made out and submitted in accordance with section 11 of the Boundary Survey (Ireland) Act, 1854. 5. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the county borough of Dublin shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are marked out by him and are described in detail in paragraph 1 of the report and delineated on the plans. 6. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the barony of Coolock shal be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Survey or which are described in detail in paragraph 2 of the report and delineated on the plans. 7. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the barony of Dublin City shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 3 of the report and delineated on the plans. 8. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the barony of Dublin shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 4 of the report and delineated on the plans. 9. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Baldoyle shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 5 of the report and delineated on the plans. 10. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Howth shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 6 of the report and delineated on the plans. 11. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Kilbarrack shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 7 of the report and delineated on the plans. 12. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Raheny shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 8 of the report and delineated on the plans. 13. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Clontarf shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 9 of the report and delineated on the plans. 14. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Clonturk shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 10 of the report and delineated on the plans. 15. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of St. Thomas shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 11 of the report and delineated on the plans. 16. It is hereby directed that for all public purposes the boundary of the parish of Donnybrook shall be deemed and taken to be the present boundary line as altered by the adoption of each of the changes proposed by the Chief Boundary Surveyor which are described in detail in paragraph 12 of the report and delineated on the plans. 17. It is hereby directed that for all public purpose the boundaries of the following wards, on the county borough of Dublin namely, Beann Eadair A, Clontarf East B, North Dock B, Pembroke East A and Raheny B, shall be the boundaries specified as regards each of those wards, respectively, in the County Borough of Dublin (Wards) Regulations, 1970, but subject to the following modification, namely, each of the references in the relevant provisions of the said Regulations to the boundary of the said county borough shall be construed as referring to the boundary line of that county borough as determined by this Order. 18. This Order together with the report and the plans shall remain on record in accordance with section 4 of the Boundary Survey (Ireland) Act, 1859, and shall be exhibited to any person or persons who may desire to inspect the same without fee or reward.

		EXPLANATORY NOTE.
		This instrument extends the maritime boundry of the city to include all land resulting from reclamation for harbour and other developmental purposes and from natural changes in the coastline and also to include such land within the boundaries of the respective baronies, parishes and wards. The new area will thus be brought within the jurisdiction of the local authority for rating and planning purposes.
