SOCIAL WELFARE (FAMILY INCOME SUPPLEMENT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1985.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 115 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981) and section 232F of that Act (as inserted by the Social Welfare Act, 1984 , (No. 5 of 1981)), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Family Income Supplement) (Amendment) Regulations, 1985.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Family Income Supplement) Regulations, 1984 ( S.I. No. 278 of 1984 ) may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Family Income Supplement) Regulations, 1984 and 1985.

2. The Social Welfare (Family Income Supplement) Regulations 1984 ( S.I. No. 278 of 1984 ) are hereby amended by:—

( a ) the substitution in article 19 of "£1,000" for "£500", and by

( b ) the substitution in section 114 (4) (i) and (ii) and 115 (1) (d), (i) and (ii) and 115 (3) (a) and (b) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 as set out and modified in the Schedule to the Regulations of "£1,000" for "£500" and "£3,000" for "£2,000".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend provisions as to fines to correspond with amendments to similar provisions relating to other social welfare payments effected by the Social Welfare Act, 1985 (No. 5 of 1985).
