LOCAL GOVERNMENT (REORGANISATION) ACT, 1985, (COUNTY BOROUGH OF GALWAY) (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1985.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 (1) of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (No. 7 of 1985) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 , (County Borough of Galway) (Appointed Day) Order, 1985.

2. The 1st day of January, 1986 shall be the appointed day for the purposes of section 5 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order appoints 1st January, 1986 as the appointed day for the purposes of section 5 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 . On that day the Borough of Galway becomes a County Borough.
