RACECOURSE (LEVY COLLECTION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1989.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Racing Board and Racecourses Act, 1945 (No. 16 of 1945), as amended by section 8 (1) of the Racing Board and Racecourses (Amendment) Act, 1975 (No. 11 of 1975 ), and the Agriculture (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 1980 (S.I. No. 80 of 1980), the Racing Board with the consent of the Minister for Agriculture and Food hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Racecourse (Levy Collection) (Amendment) Regulations, 1989.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st November 1989.

3. Regulation 16 of the Racecourse (Levy Collection) Regulations, 1977 ( S.I. No. 404 of 1977 ), is hereby amended by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (3) (inserted by the Racecourse (Levy Collection) (Amendment) Regulations, 1986:

"(4) In this Regulation "agent or servant" means a husband, wife, parent, brother, sister, son, daughter, niece, nephew, or any employee who has been in the bookmaker's continuous employment on the racecourse for a period of not less than 5 years.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations come into force on 1st November, 1989 and amend the 1977 and 1986 Regulations.

These Regulations set out the definition of the term Agent or Servant for whom a bookmaker may apply to the Racing Board for a Representative Permit.
