EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (AGRICULTURAL OR FORESTRY TRACTORS TYPE APPROVAL) REGULATIONS, 1990.

I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directives 89/680/EEC⁽¹⁾, 89/681/EEC⁽²⁾ and 89/682/EEC⁽³⁾ of 21 December, 1989, in so far as those Directives apply to the type approval of agricultural or forestry tractors and components, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1990, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1991.

2. Schedule I (inserted by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) (No. 2) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 361 of 1988 ) and amended by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 288 of 1989 )) to the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1979 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following items for items No. 11, 21 and 23:—

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Regulations implement the type approval provisions of Council Directives 89/680/EEC, 89/681/EEC and 89/682/EEC relating to roll-over protection structures of agricultural or forestry tractors.
