EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (RETIREMENT OF FARMERS) REGULATIONS, 1991.

I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive No. 72/160/EEC of 17 April 1972(1), hereby make the following Regulations:

(1)O.J. No. L96/9,23.4.72

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Retirement of Farmers) Regulations, 1991.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1991.

3. The European Communities (Retirement of Farmers) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 116 of 1974 ) are hereby amended:

( a ) by the substitution of "£3,252" for "£600" and "£2,160" for "£400" in Article 7 of the Scheme set out in the Schedule to the said Regulations, and

( b ) by the substitution of "£2,160" for "£400" in Article 8 of the said Scheme.
