ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY OF WICKLOW) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1991. | ||
The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 23 of the Road Traffic Act 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Wicklow) (Amendment) Regulations, 1991. | ||
(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Wicklow) Regulations 1987 ( S.I. No. 141 of 1987 ) and these Regulations shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Wickow) Regulations 1987 to 1991. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 24th day of October, 1991. 3. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Wicklow) Regulations 1987 ( S.I. No. 141 of 1987 ). 4. Reference 2 of the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition thereto after paragraph (e) of the following paragraph: | ||
"(f) The Shankill-Bray By-Pass". | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Wicklow) Regulations 1987 to take account of the fact that a section of the Shankill-Bray By-Pass crosses the Bray UDC boundary. | ||
Ambulances, Fire Brigade vehicles and Garda Síochána vehicles while being used in the course of duty are exempt from the speed limits. | ||
