SOCIAL WELFARE (UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT) REGULATIONS, 1992. | ||
The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981) and section 35 of that Act (as amended by section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (No. 5 of 1992)), hereby makes the following Regulations:— | ||
1 Citation. | 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Unemployment Benefit) Regulations, 1992. | |
2 Commencement. | 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 20th day of July, 1992. | |
3 Disqualification for Unemployment Benefit. | 3. The amount prescribed for the purposes of subsection (3) (e) of section 35 (as inserted by section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 ) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 shall be £12,000. | |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
Section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 provides that a person under age 55 who receives moneys in respect of redundancy in excess of a prescribed amount may be disqualified for receiving unemployment benefit for a period of up to nine weeks. These regulations prescribe an amount of £12,000 for the purposes of this disqualification. |
